Best Ringtone Maker is published by ERSIN LTD on the App Store and by Appqe LLC on Google Play. This policy describes the audio studio for iPhone and Android, its purchase features and the support pages supplied with this version. Where the two apps differ, the difference is named.

Your audio stays on your device unless you share it

The app copies audio or video that you choose, extracts audio, records from the microphone, edits a selection and exports the result on your device. It does not upload your recordings, imported media or waveform data to an audio-processing service. Audio leaves your device only when you explicitly share a finished ringtone to the Community. There is no sign-in and no cloud library.

Your saved sounds, originals, edit settings, names and favorites remain in the app's local storage until you delete them or remove the app. Temporary previews and cancelled imports are removed when the app finishes or cancels their operations. Files you export or share to another app, a file location or a sharing destination become separate copies; deleting a project does not delete those copies. The app also keeps a small cache of the Community pages you last saw, so they can be shown offline, and on Android of the Community previews you recently played; the system may clear it, and it is removed with the app. Apple's device storage and backup settings may also apply to local app data on iPhone.

On Android, the app's local data is excluded from Android backups, so uninstalling the app removes it. When you set a sound as your ringtone, notification or alarm, the app saves a copy of that sound in your phone's shared Ringtones, Notifications or Alarms folder so the system can play it. The system sound settings and other apps allowed to read audio can see that copy, and it stays on your phone, including after you uninstall the app, until you delete it there.

Community

Community features use a pseudonymous community identity that the app creates on your device the first time you use them, for example when you play a Community preview, share, add, report or block a ringtone or choose a name: a random install ID and a public signing key registered with our server, together with the platform (iPhone or Android), the app version and when the identity was created and last used. The matching private key stays on your device, in the Keychain on iPhone and in the Android Keystore on Android. Requests carry ordinary connection information such as the IP address and the standard user-agent of your device's system software (on Android this names the Android version and device model), which we use for security and abuse-rate limits. Our rate-limit counters are keyed by your install ID or by a keyed hash of the address or of your network, never the address itself, and are deleted within a few days after their window (at most a day) ends; our Community service writes no request access logs, and connection logs are short-lived.

When you share a ringtone, we receive and store the audio file you chose to share, its title, category, tags, your display name and the time of sharing; a share is accepted only with your confirmation that you have the rights to it. We convert the audio into a stored copy and a short preview without the original file's metadata, and keep a fingerprint of the audio to recognize the same clip again. Our moderators listen to every upload before deciding; their short notes are shown to you in My uploads. After a person approves it, other app users can see the title, category, tags, duration and your display name, listen to the preview and, with Premium, add it to their library. Until you choose a display name, an automatically assigned name such as "Creator 1A2B" is shown. A changed display name is shown publicly only after a moderator approves it; until then others see your previous name. Counts of previews and additions set the Popular order. Rejected and removed uploads are not shown to others, and the audio files of a removed upload are deleted; its title, tags, the moderator's note and the audio fingerprint stay with your upload record so you can see the decision, until you delete the upload or your community account.

We also store the reports you submit (the reason and any details you write) and the blocks you set, which Community ringtones you added (to count each addition once) and one preview count per install, ringtone and day for popularity. While a report you filed is open, we keep a keyed hash of your network (not your IP address), used only to hide a reported ringtone automatically; it is cleared when the report closes, when you delete your community account or in our first routine clean-up after 30 days.

To add someone else's ringtone, the app sends proof of your active Premium purchase so our server can confirm it with the store; payment details are never included. On iPhone, this is Apple-signed transaction information for your active subscription (such as transaction IDs, product and expiry), which our server confirms with Apple. On Android, it is the Google Play purchase token and product of your subscription or full-access purchase; our server sends that token, the product and the app's package name to Google Play to confirm it, and does not store the token. We keep the result of that check (the original transaction ID or Google Play order number, or a fingerprint of the purchase token when Google Play reports no order number, together with product, expiry, status and whether it was a test purchase) and which community identities use it, so one purchase serves at most 10 app installations at a time. An installation stops counting when its community account is deleted or after it has not used Community for 90 days.

The copyright and abuse form at https://getbest.website/api/v1/takedown collects the sender's name, email, the ringtone link, an ownership statement and details. We never share them with the creator. We erase the sender's name, email, statement and details in our routine clean-up once two years have passed since the request was closed, and keep a keyed hash of the sender's IP address for 30 days to limit abuse; the receipt number, the ringtone link, the decision and dates remain.

You can edit, unpublish or delete each upload. A verified deletion request sent through the Support page removes the same data (see "Help and privacy requests"). We keep:

a record that the deleted identity existed (a fingerprint of its public key and the deletion time), so it

cannot be used again;

the purchase check results described above, no longer linked to any identity;
reports you filed about others and reports others filed about your ringtones, with the reason, details and

ringtone title but no link to you or the ringtone, until two years after they close;

no link to it;

moderation records for two years, which can include your profile and ringtone IDs, display name, ringtone

titles and moderator notes, and a record of the deletion;

rate-limit counters tied to your install ID, until they expire within two days.

Local files are not affected, and a subscription is not cancelled. Data is otherwise kept while your community identity exists.

Permissions and choices

On iPhone, microphone access is requested to record a sound. The system photo picker gives the app the videos you choose. Music-library access is used only for your requested import of available, unprotected media. You can cancel a picker or change permissions in iPhone Settings.

On Android, the app asks for microphone access only when you start recording. The system file picker and photo picker give the app only the audio or video you choose, so the app needs no storage permission; audio or video you open with or share to the app from another app is handled the same way. Setting a sound as your ringtone, notification or alarm uses Android's "Modify system settings" access, which you allow on a system screen; the app uses it only to set the sound you chose, and without it the sound is saved for you to pick in your sound settings. The app also uses internet and network-state access for the Community and online pages, vibration for haptic feedback and Google Play's billing service for purchases. It does not request location, contacts, notification or broad storage permissions. You can change these choices in Android Settings.

Denying a permission does not prevent you from using the other import methods or the original sound catalogue.

Purchases and local preferences

On iPhone, Apple processes purchases, payment details, subscription renewals and refunds. The app reads Apple-verified purchase information to provide Premium access and restore existing purchases. Apple's handling is described in its App Store privacy information.

On Android, Google Play processes purchases, payment details, subscription renewals and refunds. The app reads purchase information from Google Play on your device (the products you own, their state and purchase tokens) to provide Premium access and restore purchases; it does not store that information, and it acknowledges new purchases to Google Play as Google Play requires. Google's handling is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Purchase-service notifications from Apple and Google Play may be processed to maintain subscription records. We do not receive your payment-card details.

The app stores onboarding completion locally. On iPhone, a small Keychain record remembers whether the optional review invitation has been handled, so it is not repeatedly shown; that record can survive reinstallation. On Android, the same record and a count of app launches are kept in the app's local storage and are removed with the app. These records contain no recording or advertising identifier. If you choose to rate the app from that invitation, Apple's or Google Play's own rating screen handles your rating; the app does not receive it. On Android, the app also keeps, in storage excluded from backups, its community identity record, the version of the Community guidelines you accepted before your first share and small records that make a repeated upload attempt safe. The app does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, does not use an advertising ID, and does not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites.

Online pages and support

Onboarding, Premium information and legal pages use an internet connection. Requests carry ordinary connection information, such as the IP address, and the app identity, language and platform needed to deliver the page. Native purchase prices are displayed by the page; payment is handled by Apple or Google Play. On Android, these pages open inside the app in the system WebView, which may keep this website's own cookies and site storage in the app's private storage; links to other websites open in your browser. Your audio is not included in these requests; Community sharing is described above.

If you submit the support form on this website, your name, email address, subject and message are stored and delivered to our support mailbox to answer your request. Include only information needed for that request. Support messages are kept while needed to handle the issue and any applicable obligations; this policy does not promise a fixed deletion period.

Help and privacy requests

Use the Support page on this website for questions or requests about information provided to us. The quickest way to delete your community account is Settings → Delete community account in the app. If you no longer have the app or the device that created your community identity, send a deletion request with the Support page form and include your display name, the exact titles of the ringtones you shared and roughly when you shared them; never include passwords, payment details or other secrets. A moderator checks that these details match a community profile and then deletes it in the same way as the in-app action, keeping only what is described under "Community" above. We aim to complete such a request within 30 days. The request itself is kept as a support message, as described above. We may need to confirm that any other request concerns your information. Local audio can be removed directly from My Ringtones; we cannot retrieve audio that was never sent to us. Manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple account or Google Play subscriptions, separately from deleting local files, deleting your community account or uninstalling the app.
